Location: Urbandale. IA
Time: 11:58 am
Composition: I was more interested in capturing the shadow that these figure create on the brick wall. It's hard to see, but there are two types of light/absence of light created by the figures. The most obvious is the shadows. The second are high lights created by the acrylic pieces in the chest area of the dancers.

Panelized Entry
Building: Urbandale Middle School
Location: Urbandale. IA
Time: 2:26pm
Composition: Standing on a 'hedge' to get a above the courtyard. The two people show the scale of the new entry to the school. I like the reflections happening in the photograph.
Architectural Critique: I really like the entry to this building. The blue post is just out of place and looks weird in this setting.
Critique: I was in a hurry to take this picture and I forgot to move the trashcans/
Process: Straightened verticals in Photoshop

Iron Sculpture
Building: sculpture in median
Location: Urbandale, IA
Time: 5:48pm
Composition: A series of overlapping structures. The metal is emerging from the stone. The contrast of the grass and the metal is what appealed me to this photo.

Sunset Entry
Building: Rain and Hail LLC
Location: Johnston, IA
Time: 5:55pm
Composition: Photographing close to the ground to put more emphasis on the sky and entry. The entry appears distorted in the image but it is actually bending upwards which creates the distorted appearance.
Process: Cropped out the right side of the photo because a bench was partially in the image

Twin Spires Cathedral
Building: Twin Spires Cathedral
Location: St. Joseph, MO
Time: 4:23pm
Composition: Because of the amount of traffic signs, power lines, obstacles, and the height of the building I had to take the the building catty corner to the building to reduce the amount of clutter in the foreground and reduce the 3 point perspective caused by looking up at the spires.
Critique: The power lines are a little distracting but much better than the many traffic signs that were bent in front of the building.
Process: I used the Dodge Tool to lighten up the left side of the building. Because the photo was taken late in the day, the left side of the building was completely in shadow. The Dodge tool allowed me to bring a lot of the detail back into the image. Finally, I used Photoshop to straighten the verticals of the building.

Illuminated Compounds
Building: Hach Hall
Location: Ames, IA
Time: 7:28 pm
Composition: Photographing the illuminated facade of the building at an upward angle. The photo shows that metal panels make up the wall. The cut outs that the light is coming through are chemical compounds, which represent the school that occupies this building: chemistry.
