Composition: Looking at the staircase from an angle which allows one to see what lies underneath the staircase. This also allows for what is outside of the windows to come through.
Critique: Right now it looks like the stair case gets truncated on the right side of the photo, stepping back or turning in to the right would make the balcony space visible and show where the staircase leads.
